How Much Does An EPDM Rubber Roof Cost?

EPDM rubber roofing is an extremely popular choice, owing to its durability, resistance to weathering, and its low-maintenance. However, before planning an EPDM roofing project, it is important to understand the costs associated with an installation.

Cost Comparison

Before explaining the costs associated with EPDM roofing, it is important to consider the overall rubber roof cost in comparison with other roofing materials, such as Bitumen Felt.

On the surface, EPDM roofing has always been seen to be the more expensive roofing solution, however, as advancements in EPDM have been made, the cost of installation has lowered to be much more competitive with alternatives such as Bitumen Felt.

EPDM membrane also has the advantage of needing much less maintenance than a torched-on Bitumen felt roof, with the labour costs being much lower owing to the ease of installation. When totalling all significant costs, EPDM becomes the most cost-effective roofing solution.

EPDM Roofing Costs

Below, we have supplied a breakdown of the costs for EPDM roofing in 2024. Our EPDM roofing calculator has been specifically designed to ensure you get the best price possible for your EPDM roofing project, and we recommend familiarising yourself with it whilst planning your next EPDM roofing project.

EPDM Cost By m2

Rubber roof cost by meter square can vary depending on several factors, including; detail kits, the thickness of the EPDM membrane and any additional primers/adhesives which may be needed. For a simple installation, not requiring any upstands or detail kits for internal/external corners, our roofing calculator calculates a price of £40 per square meter (inclusive of VAT).

Maintenance Costs

Owing to the fantastic durability of our Techno EPDM membrane, maintenance costs for roofs which are regularly inspected, are free from debris and are kept free from damage by external sources (such as branches, roof tiles, etc) are much lower. EPDM will not degrade over time owing to its fantastic weather and UV resistance, keeping maintenance costs low.

If the roof does become damaged by an external source, most repairs require only a detail kit, and EPDM primer, helping keep the overall upkeep cost of the roof low.
